Le Présent
- The present tense describes what happens or what is happening in the present
- Always remember 'Il chante' means both 'he sings' and 'he is singing' and so on.
- Take the verb in the infinitive
- Remove the er, ir, and re
- Add the following endings

- Describes something someone does to themselves or to others e.g. se laver, se disputer
- Add me, te, se, nous, vous, se after the personal pronoun (je, tu etc.) e.g. je me lave, nous nous disputons
- Conjugate the verbs as normal
- Verbs with a 'ger' ending e.g. manger, are slightly irregular in the 'nous' form
- Instead of taking off the 'er' you just take away the 'r' e.g. nous mangeons (this is to make pronunciation easier
- One of the only ways to learn the irregular verbs is to learn them by heart
- Below is a table, with the verbs in order in how I found them easiest to learn
- It is essential to know your present tense as it is the building blocks for quite a few other tenses
